Seychelles Nature Trail
Mahé – Seychelles
|
|
|
|
|
|
Some races simply follow a route.
Others tell a story, reveal a destination
and invite runners into full immersion.
The Seychelles Nature Trail clearly belongs to the latter category.
On May 16, 2026, the island of Mahé will host the third edition
of this now iconic event, where trail running becomes
a way to explore the natural richness of the Seychelles.
Here, the sporting challenge is inseparable from the environment:
every stride crosses preserved landscapes,
every effort unfolds in direct connection with nature.
|
|
|
|
The Seychelles Nature Trail offers a demanding yet balanced format,
designed for experienced trail runners as well as for those
seeking an extraordinary experience.
22 kilometers across forest trails,
technical sections, volcanic terrain and iconic beaches,
with 1 210 meters of elevation gain.
A course that tests endurance,
while offering a spectacular reading of the landscape.
More than a route, it is a true crossing of Mahé,
revealing the island’s diversity and raw beauty.

Course & technical profile
|
|
Designed as a true crossing of the island of Mahé,
the Seychelles Nature Trail course
offers a complete and demanding reading of the territory.
Far from a uniform route, it alternates environments,
rhythms and levels of technical difficulty.
Over 22 kilometers, runners face
1 210 meters of elevation gain,
spread across rolling coastal sections,
sustained climbs through tropical forest,
technical descents and narrow trails
winding through dense vegetation.
The profile features several key moments:
a gradual warm-up phase,
followed by long forest sections
where effort management is essential,
before a more technical final section
requiring focus and precision.
Designed by tropical trail specialists,
this course highlights the diversity of Mahé’s landscapes
while offering a coherent sporting challenge,
accessible to experienced trail runners
as well as to those seeking their first major international challenge.
