Seychelles Nature Trail

Mahé – Seychelles

Tourism Seychelles

Some races simply follow a route. Others tell a story, reveal a destination and invite runners into full immersion.

The Seychelles Nature Trail clearly belongs to the latter category. On May 16, 2026, the island of Mahé will host the third edition of this now iconic event, where trail running becomes a way to explore the natural richness of the Seychelles.

Here, the sporting challenge is inseparable from the environment: every stride crosses preserved landscapes, every effort unfolds in direct connection with nature.

The Seychelles Nature Trail offers a demanding yet balanced format, designed for experienced trail runners as well as for those seeking an extraordinary experience.

22 kilometers across forest trails, technical sections, volcanic terrain and iconic beaches, with 1 210 meters of elevation gain. A course that tests endurance, while offering a spectacular reading of the landscape.

More than a route, it is a true crossing of Mahé, revealing the island’s diversity and raw beauty.

When trail running becomes a tropical immersion

Running in the Seychelles means slowing down your gaze to better feel the environment. Humid forests, vegetal scents, sounds of tropical wildlife and shifting light accompany participants throughout the course.

The Seychelles Nature Trail fully embraces a vision of sustainable tourism, promoting active discovery of the island while raising awareness of ecosystem preservation.

An experience where sport becomes a vehicle for emotion, respect and connection with one of the Indian Ocean’s natural jewels.

Registration for the Seychelles Nature Trail 2026 is now open.

The number of race bibs is deliberately limited to preserve both the experience and the environment. Early registration is strongly recommended.

Course & technical profile

Designed as a true crossing of the island of Mahé, the Seychelles Nature Trail course offers a complete and demanding reading of the territory. Far from a uniform route, it alternates environments, rhythms and levels of technical difficulty.

Over 22 kilometers, runners face 1 210 meters of elevation gain, spread across rolling coastal sections, sustained climbs through tropical forest, technical descents and narrow trails winding through dense vegetation.

The profile features several key moments: a gradual warm-up phase, followed by long forest sections where effort management is essential, before a more technical final section requiring focus and precision.

Designed by tropical trail specialists, this course highlights the diversity of Mahé’s landscapes while offering a coherent sporting challenge, accessible to experienced trail runners as well as to those seeking their first major international challenge.

Press review 2025 : an event now firmly established

The 2025 edition of the Seychelles Nature Trail confirmed the event’s growing stature on the regional and international sporting scene. Specialized and general media widely covered the unique experience offered to participants.

Media such as Exclusif.re, Week-End Sport – Mauritius and several national outlets highlighted the quality of the organization, the spectacular beauty of the course and the singular atmosphere of the race, combining sporting challenge and natural immersion.

Feedback from runners, partners and observers is unanimous: the Seychelles Nature Trail stands out as a distinctive event, successfully combining performance, authenticity and destination promotion.

This media recognition reinforces the ambition for the 2026 edition : to deliver an even more refined event, while remaining faithful to its core values of respect for nature and shared experience.

“Sport as a destination driver, nature as a field of emotion.”
